In November 2023 the Montreal PWRDF unit and the group Diversity in Community from St George's Place du Canada worked together to produce a webinar featuring our Indigenous Archbishop, Chris Harper. The talk was fantastic and worth viewing .

This might be done following Sunday worship or during a special occasion. It also could be incorporated into the Sunday worship. This has already been done at St George's Ste Anne de Bellevue, where it was incorporated as the talk into a shortened service of Morning Prayer. For more information contact Ann Cumyn (rhodesbartow@gmail.com) or Roslyn Macgregor (roslyn.macgregor@gmail.com)

On Sunday, march 11th 2018 we (St. Stephen's Church, Lachine) held our PWRDF Fundraising lunch of soup and sandwiches. Our Rector's  warden made two kinds of soup: chicken noodle and Scotch broth. Others made sandwiches, cookies, and cake. We raised $376 for the Pikangikum Water Project which we'll mail to Toronto this week. 23 people participated.

About Us...

PWRDF is active in approximately 30 countries, with partners drawn from Anglican churches, ecumenical organizations, and community-based groups. PWRDF supports people-centred development that improves the quality of daily life for vulnerable populations, promotes self-reliance, and addresses root causes of poverty and injustice.

Our work is bound together in three strategic themes:

  • Weaving a Culture of Peace with Justice

  • Building a Moral Economy and

  • Accompanying Communities in Crisis.

PWRDF strives to be a part of the outreach ministry of every Canadian Anglican parish and an expression for all Anglicans of their baptismal covenant to strive for justice and peace and to respect the dignity of every human being.

The national PWRDF has additional materials and information available here.
